Case Profile

Seeo was founded in 2007, initially developed from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory under the Department of Energy of the United States. It specializes in developing a new class of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries with unprecedentedly high energy density and reliability, as well as long battery life. Its technologies will significantly surpass the performance and cost efficiency of current rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. A brand new and unique technical solution will be put forward for global electric cars and scale storage of renewable energies.

The company was acquired by the leading German supplier--Robert Bosch LLC in 2015.

At present, Seeo is the only company with key patents authorized by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to help Bosch deliver mass production of lightweight batteries.

Before the acquisition, GSR Ventures and Google owned the shares.
